Kat Dennings was born on June 13, 1986 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and was given the name Katherine Victoria Litwack. She was the daughter of Ellen, was a writer and speech therapist. Meanwhile, her dad, Gerald, was a molecular pharmacist and professor in the college. Dennings was raised in an Jewish family, and was the youngest of children. Dennings was not a student at a conventional school for long but was instead homeschooled. As she was acting in her early years she was best off homeschooling her. In the year 14 she finished high school. She had already begun doing commercials when she was at the age of nine. Following her graduation from high school she and her family moved in Los Angeles in order to pursue acting. Kat Dennings was her name at the time she started to audition. Kat Dennings ' first performance was in the HBO series Sex and the City in 2000. Kat Dennings was a part of "Sex and City" on HBO.
