tony gonzalez-5-1024x1024Anthony David Gonzalez was born in Torrance, California on February 27, 1976. His family was from the southern part of California and attended Huntington Beach High School where Gonzalez was a star player on both the basketball and football teams. Gonzalez excelled in these sports at the University of California. He was instrumental in guiding the team's football team to 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, Gonzalez set the record for his school for receptions with nine and beat it. After a few months, Gonzalez was the team's basketball coach to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA basketball tournament. Gonzalez was selected to the NFL Draft in 1997. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Gonzalez as the 13th overall pick. Gonzalez was a player with the Chiefs from 1997 until the year 2008. The Chiefs sold Gonzalez to the Atlanta Falcons. He didn't catch fewer than 59 passes in Gonzalez's second NFL season.
