She's famous for playing April Carver in the 2014-2015 ABC Family television show Chasing Life, and for her role as the White House Chief of Staff and Special Advisor Emily Rhodes in the television drama series Designated Survivor from 2016 to 2019.During 2009, Ricci began appearing in American productions that featured small roles in How I Met Your Mother, House, and Greek. The same year, she had a regular role in the show in the role of Sasha in Secret Girlfriend on Comedy Central. In 2010, she appeared in Unnatural History on Cartoon Network as Maggie Winnock. She was also featured in an Clean & Clear commercial. In 2011, Ricci appeared in the short film Valediction. Ricci was in a small part in the movie Don Jon, Joseph Gordon-Levitt's first film as a director.
